Dance has always been a part of my life; the opportunity to be a cheerleader, Studio dancer, flags, and dance team member were all blessings. I graduated with a bachelor’s in fine arts from Southwest Texas State University in 2001 and have been with the Nimitz family since then. Dance offers young ladies much more than fabulous costumes and fond memories. Being involved in such an organization teaches life skills that will help them succeed in whatever field they choose to pursue. Dancers learn about discipline, responsibility, teamwork, goal setting, respect, and the satisfaction of a job well done. I chose to become a dance director because I believe in these values, and of course….I love to dance. ~ R. Lopez
